In General Don't know what to do... Entry Tools Rate This Entry

Well, so I've settle down, studied for midterms and got to know more about my location. I've checked websites and phone books and yes there is an aikido (ASU style) within ~5miles from my resident and school. However, the fee is nothing I really want to put forth. I can afford it, yes, but it's too much. I am sure the quality of training is swell, but for that price, I don't know what to do. I am only a student.

I am in a dilemma. Should I look elsewhere for a different style, there is a hapkido/taekwondo place near by (don't know the fee) and I was originally from taekwondo or should I go get a membership from the near by gym (pretty cheap) or splurge on and continue my aikido training...I do want to continue, since my school no longer has an aikido club or tai chi club *sigh*...

I will have to think about this for awhile.

In General In Seattle, err Kirkland area Entry Tools Rate This Entry

Though its been a stressful time getting here, I have not been able to fully settle down. On a psychological side, it maybe due to all the cold and wet weather lately. Ooo gotta get me one of the fancy lamps (Gary's idea).

There are tons of Aikido dojos around, and some that are close within a radius of 5 miles. But, not to offend anyone training there, since I have not seen their training methods, they are quite expensive. Nonetheless, there are plentiful other Martial Arts styles around, but its not what I am looking for. And, don't really want to travel so far (gotta get me a bicycle and a bus pass).

I guess I will have to rely on the university to provide me one. Though, I tried to contact via email the club about fees and schedule, but I haven't gotten a response back. On a side note: school is fine, it hasn't started, but its going pretty swell. Other than that, nothing new - same old same old.

In General First Entry - Off to Seattle Entry Tools Rate This Entry

Well, this is my first post and probably my last post in Winnipeg.

Its been a year since I've joined the North Winnipeg Aikikai, however, due to life's "gifts" I haven't been training for a year. I am sad to leave this wonderful dojo filled with good and nice people. My last "advice" was to make a blog here on Aikiweb to establish communication with fellow dojo members.

I do enjoy Aikido training and hopefully be able to continue to train in Seattle. Reason of leaving Winnipeg is university. I have been accepted into Bastyr University for their undergrad degree in Health Psychology. I will be leaving tomorrow. *sigh* and *yay*

I don't know what to type about at the moment. I guess I would like to thank my dojo sensei and members. Its been a good/weird year, and I am thankful to have met you all. Hopefully in Seattle there is a nice, close and "cheap" (I am only a student) place to train with good instructions, like the one I trained at. I will look when I settle down.

Well, that's about it, I have lots of stuff to do before tomorrow.
