I need your advise and recommendations on tatami issue. Our Aikido club in Tbilisi (georgia, Caucasus)lacks tatami. We train on thick carpet spread over wooden floor (with some flex) and would like to ask you how to make a tatami or mat ourselves? if you can reccomend some materials which could be used for that please advise us, any suggestions will be appreciated. Do not reply with commercial proposals we simply have no funds for the purchase.
Georgia is poor country and it is faraway from western Europe and Americas. If possible send us measurements in Metric system. We are ready to do our mat ourself and your inputs in that will be welcomed.
