Jan de Jong

Hi folks

Firstly I hope this is the right board to post this question on - I'm brand spanking new here, so forgive my transgressions

I interested in getting into aikido (after some time in practice with Judo and BJJ). Specifically, I'm interested in joining Jan de Jongs school here in Perth, West Australia. I'm looking to get more background information before I make the leap.

Has / does anyone trained at jan de jongs? Can you tell me a little of your experience (both good or bad).

Many thanks

Bob st

Jan de Jong! I was at a jujutsu seminar where Jan was teaching, long time ago. Isn't he a jujutsuka (as opposed to an aikidoka I mean)?

If it's the same Jan de Jong, he is world known jujutsu teacher.

Tsutsumi Hozan ju-jitsu (whatever that is), Pencak Silat and Yoseikan Aikido are taught.

The information I have indicates that Jan was an uchi deshi of Minoru Mochizuki (again whoever that is - excuse the glaring ignorance)

Anyone here train aikido in this school (or the other two for that matter)? I've done some "preliminary reconnaissance" and still very much in the data gather phase ;-)

PS: Sorry for the new nick - something very odd has occured to my bob_st account - seemingly stuck in an endless loop of log-ins that lead no-where (ie: couldn't post follow up to this msg)
