Best Aikido Movies
What are the best aikido movies out there? Anything near as good as Steven Seagal's? If his are the only ones, what is the best, as far as showing aikido, of his? Thanks.

Re: Best Aikido Movies
Well... there's SOME aikido in "The Challenge" with Scott Glenn, 1982 (IIRC)...
Seagal was the MA coordinator.

Technically about Daito Ryu, rather than aikido, but it's excellent.

Re: Best Aikido Movies
There's a quick scene at an aikido dojo in the old Sci Fi Movie Guyver (starring Mark Hamil, though he's not in the scene).

Re: Best Aikido Movies
If you want the best ones, IMHO with Seagal, I'd say Above The Law, Marked for Death amd Out For Justice. To me those have the best aikido scenes, and I'm partial to Above The Law. The Challenge also has some scenes like has been mentioned.

Re: Best Aikido Movies
You should be able to find The Challenge on youtube...there are many movies with that tittle, so you'll have to do a little looking.

Re: Best Aikido Movies
I'd vote for the Challenge also - good call! And the famous Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune co-starred in the Challenge. ( eg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mgD8q3I7nc )
(While not concerned with aikido, you may also want to look up Toshiro Mifune as a samurai in the western Red Sun with Charles Bronson, famous French actor Alain Delon): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I193V0XC0n4 ).

Re: Best Aikido Movies
Yep, had seen Red Sun many years ago...a classic Japanese with the honorable Charles Bronson.
