Jermaine Alley - Richmond Aikido

Hey Aiki Web,

I am back after a little six or seven year break from the forum. I have been a student/instructor at Richmond Aikido right outside of Richmond, Virginia for about fourteen or so years and hold a San Dan ranking. This passion in the martial arts has however kept me active for about twenty six years or so in total with degree rankings in other arts.

I am a police officer with a local department and serve as a defensive tactics instructor. The martial arts and policing have a very good relationship as most of our techniques are based in some form on Japanese Jujutsu.

I value and have a deep respect for all martial arts because that they all have their own importance relating to practical and realistic self defense. In my humble opinion self defense is a key ingredient is you refer to any form or system as a martial art.

Thanks for welcoming back AikiWeb. I look forward to furthering my understanding and knowledge of the art.

Thanks,

Jermaine
