The right thing

Hi everybody!
I started posting Aikiweb some days ago, as I was looking for info about aikido..for the wrong reason; one could say I was walking on the dark side
I've been robbered, some time ago, and I was still very troubled, giving away my brain thinking about self-defense, strikes and guns
Luckily, reading a book on aikido it and your posts I realized that two punks can't ruin my life, and that aikido has to be first of all a way (in the "do" meaning) to improve my skills, my life and my relationships with the right side of life and humankind.
So, no more strange thoughts: I'm going to enjoy my life

My aikido lessons will start in September: I look forward for it! In the meantime, I'm going to a gym (running, perspiring out the bad seeds and playing with my muscles), I'm listening Pat Metheny and I keep reading my book on Aikido and a Sci_Fi book. All these things in my spare time, 'cause I work as a computer programmer (anyone knows Dilbert? ).

See you soon, somewhere, somehow!

Erminio

I'm a programmer but..

I fixed my eyes with Photoshop

Actually I work on microcontrollers and industrial boards, using Assembler and LabVIEW.

Have a nice day

Why wait till September? Its better to start immediately then try to 'prepare' thoroughly for it since you'll never be perfect for aikido. Just my thots anyway.

Dont play with your muscle(s) too much, you'll go blind...

On a more serious note though, I would not worry about getting fit so much, by definition Aikido is a soft, internal martial art and you will start cultivating a mindset where correct posture, deep relaxed breathing and correct eating habits become natural and comfortable.

Anyway, the rounder you are, the easier you roll...
