Returning to Practice
Hi everyone. I'm sorry not to have posted an intro sooner, but
I wasn't able to figure out how to enter it properly so ended up
answering posts first. Better late than never? I especially
enjoyed posts about people like myself returning to training. Yes,
I've been reading around in Aikiweb on and off for several months
and enjoyed many of the threads in various categories.
I started Aikido in the mid sixties but haven't trained much since
the mid eighties, job change, marriage and injuries that
probably weren't Aikido related. My husband is in building trades
and we have been busy with that, but the economic downturn has
at least one benefit: more time to train. On one of the threads
a practicioner from Great Britain encouraged me to work around
the limitations and practice again so here I am. "O Negai Shimasu"
(Traditional request to train with people)

That's the spirit Dianne.... Just don't force it too much.... listen to your body and it will listen to you.... I don't think about my age I just do as much as I can and a bit more.... sometimes take a rest... then back to it.... I'm as strong as I was in my late 30's.... Just the stamina isn't what it used to be....
Take care and train well...
Tony
