Hi Everyone. My name is Dave and I began training at the old Shobukan dojo here in St.Louis under Dave Lowry back in the late 80's in into the mid 90's. I had training in Shotokan Karate in the mid 1970's til the time I joined Lowery's group training in both Shindo Muso Ryu Jodo and Aikido.
At the age of 60 I am nursing a bad knee and hope to return to Aikido at the St.Louis Aikikai in the next few weeks. I was training again in Shotokan but the stances were really beating my knees up.
Perhaps Karate is a young persons art while Aikido is for everyone.

Welcome Dave! Interesting lineage!

That's great you are still training, I hope your body holds up so you can train for many more years!

Osu!
