Dojo help - dojo in Yorkshire, UK, area?

Hi, am new to the forums, and just wondered if anybody in the Yorkshire, UK, area, could help me in my search for a new dojo in the York area?

The style which I practice is traditional, and have so far been practising with Sensei Ken Marsden at the York University. But as it is at the uni, I find that the holidays are too long to go between practising, we break up next week, and don't start practising again till Oct! 16 weeks with no Aiki, will drive me up the wall. I need regular practice sessions.

I know of the Tomiki clubs in and around York, but having tried Tomiki a while back, discovered that the style just wasn't for me.

Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks, Kerry

Sensei Marsden also teaches at the Bradford dojo, which doesn't stop in the holidays. There used to be plenty of guys from York driving over to the Leeds or Bradford clubs (when I was there oh so many years ago) so ask around and see what the guys are doing or if there is a chance of car-sharing. I don't knwo what the trains are like these days, I suspect you need to change in Leeds. There are other dojos within range, I often used to train with Sensei McClarence in Newcastle when I lived in Leeds, for example.

Your enthusiasm is great to see, keep it up, please bear in mind that it only polite to speak to your teacher before going to practice with other people.
