This article entitled "Martial artists making a difference: Jennifer Smith" describes Jennifer's involvement in Santa Cruz, CA, in the "Physical Education for Body, Mind and Spirit" program which includes aikido for alternative education students funded by the US Department of Education.

From the article: "The goal in establishing this program was not only developing and maintaining physical fitness and dealing with the national problem with childhood obesity, but also to help students find ways to begin making healthy life-style choices."

Re: "Martial artists making a difference: Jennifer Smith"

Hey, thanks everybody! Garsh!
funny thing...my computer has been out for days and this is the first I've seen of this article on aikiweb.

One last thing....please consider developing such programs in your area. I will be there to help and support you, if you should desire.
One more last thing ( I also have trouble saying just 1 goodbye :-) )
Budo are arts of self development and protection. This is our service call. Let's show the world what we got!

Love You Guys!

Jen

Yup! Even a scofflaw like me can work with them! They are, indeed, good people who will serve and protect. Just like the kind-hearted budoka I know and love so well.
Thanks Michael. Thanks everyone!
