Hikitsuchi Sensei
Quote:
Michio Hikitsuchi was born near Shingu, Japan, in 1923 and passed away in February of 2004. At nine years old he began kendo and later also ken-jutsu, ju-jutsu, bojutsu and karate. When he was fourteen years old, he met Ueshiba Morihei O'Sensei for the first time. At that time there was an age requirement for studying budo with O'Sensei, but they made an exception for Hikitsuchi.
Hikitsuchi Sensei received his 10th dan in 1969, three months before O'Sensei passed away.

Re: Hikitsuchi Sensei
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of O-Sensei passing Hikitsuchi Sensei did a demonstration at the University of Chicago. I had the pleasure of being one of the uke. There was a news crew there but I would have no idea how to find out if film is now available.

Re: Hikitsuchi Sensei
Wow, Dennis, what was that like? I've heard really good things about H sensei...can you describe one attack and one throw (if you remember)?
Best,
Ron
