Boulder Summer Camp!

I just got back from the Boulder Summer Camp. Ikeda Sensei and the ASU deserve a standing ovation for another outstanding training experience. Ikeda Sensei, Saotome Sensei, Doran Sensei and Ushiro Sensei offered a week of highly focused training. The emphasis of the camp (to me at least) was helping people better understand the internal aspects of Aikido. Ushiro Sensei helped us to understand that these internal components are the core of true budo, regardless of how it is expressed.

Only 358 more days until the next camp! For anybody in the LA area, Ushiro Sensei will be in the LA area for 8/24- 8/26. Although he is the headmaster of a form of Okinawan Bujitsu, you will rarely (if you are lucky) meet a person in the martial arts world with such a high level of Aiki and internal energy skills. He has to be seen and felt to be believed!

Thanks again to all of those who worked so hard to make that camp such a one-of-a-kind experience.

Re: Boulder Summer Camp!

Saotome Sensei, Doran Sensei, Ikeda Sensei, and Ushiro Sensei are fantastic teachers and very generous with their time, talent, and humor. Each of them are true gentlemen.

I also want to applaud the contributions of the instructors from Boulder and other dojo across the country that taught focus classes. These teachers were also outstanding.
