Minoru Mochizuki DVD?
I have been trying to find footage of Minoru Mochizuki everywhere but have only been able to find 4 small clips from Aikido Journal. They are good clips but I was hoping to find some substantial footage.
Does anybody know where I can find some?
Thanks in advance
Ben

A difficult problem is easily solved by asking yourself the question, "Just how would the Lone Ranger handle this?"

Re: Minoru Mochizuki DVD?
Nice call, Bryan. Those are mainly his son, Hiroo, who now runs the Yoseikan World Federation, but if you scroll all the way to the bottom of that page, videos #1642 and 1643 are what Minoru Mochizuki was doing at his dojo in Shizuoka City. Those videos are parts 1 and 2 and they pretty well show his system, including the major katas he created, as he did and taught them, including his last kata, sutemi waza no kata, which is superb. These tapes include old footage of sensei in action doing aikido and judo, teaching in France in the early 1950s, doing sword, etc. Highly recommended.
Best wishes,
David

Hi David,
I had scrolled to the bottom and seen those videos, hence the reason for posting the link

Quite right. It was clear you'd seen them. I just wanted to point out the particular ones. Nice of you to look that up, though.

Re: Minoru Mochizuki DVD?
Hi Ben,
I know Ross has the Minoru Mochizuki tapes as I saw them at his house many years ago. I also got myself a copy from Japan. The YWF ones look interesting.

Re: Minoru Mochizuki DVD?
Hi Darin,
good to hear from you again
Have you moved locations?
Sensei has the VHS copies as far as I am aware and I don't have a VHS player only DVD (silly me).
The YWF DVDs do look interesting, may have to buy them as well
Cheers
Ben

Hi Ben,
Sorry for the late reply. Yes I moved locations. My dojo is now in Osborne Park. After Unno Sensei's death I changed the name of the school to Mushin Shindo Aikido. I still teach "Yoseikan Aikido" as taught by Yoshiaki Unno but its packaged differently. Currently the only officially recognized (by the Mochizuki family) Yoseikan school in Australia is the one run by Roy Hebden in Forrestfield.
