Mook jong for internal training

An aikidoka friend of mine just built a mook jong (wooden dummy) and we are very excited to integrate this into our solo training. Any of the folks with background in Japanese arts have any experience using these? Thoughts?

Re: Mook jong for internal training

Done a lot of WC/JKD off the dummy.

Still work it in the air or on wood when I can find it.

Wouldn't consider it internal, but it is good training.

You need to find some one who can show you how to work it.

Have fun.

why would you want to play with wooden dummy when there are plenty on the mat? there are better ways to play solo with your wood.
