Testing after Shodan

In our dojo testing isn't pushed, test if you want, don't if you don't want to. I received my shodan a few years back and don't really feel the need to test, but having this nagging doubt that maybe I should.
I spend about 10 hours a week at the dojo between training and teaching. So If I wanted to I've "put in the time" - I'm curious to hear others opinions pro or con on further tests.

If you don't want to go test, then don't.

If you really want to, then go right ahead. Have you either had routines to challenge yourself, or someone with a higher rank and/or more experience to challenge you? Sounds like you have been spending a lot of time at the dojo training and teaching, especially if you have done that for years, then go for it. If teaching is your thing, then getting higher ranks I think can potentially allow you to teach more to your students in the future.

It will impress the uninitiated, or newbies. If you want to continue teaching it will reflect your time practicing the art.

If there is a question of method or technique, then the higher rank is typically deferred to.....
