Confidence(Sp) is one of the important keys in Aikido in my opinion. For example
we had a older lady, white belt, that was very nervous and was unsure of her moves. She would end up trying to do something and do it wrong. However, we had a fellow that transfered from Judo, a black belt, and was very confident compaired to the rest of us and picked up very quickly.
I am also very nervous about my movements, and I do not like to ask questions, I'm not sure why. So, I end up gathering movements from observation. However, I am learning to ask questions when I am confused.
This is my second night of Aikido and on that matter I'm very confused. Something that I know I will have trouble with is confidence in what I do, I seem to have trouble with that. I may know the move, but I will not be able to execute it due to I think I'm not doing it right, or being nervous. Also, names are very confusing. It's only my second night, but hopefully I will catch on.
Picked up two books: Dynamic Aikido and The Dynamic Sphere
