I've got a long awaited 4th Kyu test next week, and combined with me doubling the amount of classes I take per week got me thinking about the nature of tests.
In the test we perform a set of predetermined techniques, after attending a predetermined amount classes. As if just to test my matching skills for words and techniques, and recognize my seniority.
I can't wait to be 4th Kyu, but taking the test doesn't tell me if I'm improving, or just showing a good attendance record.
