Shadows

Shadows -- they hide
They obscure
They provide protection
And possibilities
And, they are not
Always apparent

Two sides
Omote and ura
Front and back
The obvious and the hidden
But, shadows, shadows can
Sometimes be so illuminating
And provide a lesson
Beyond the obvious

Nice poem. Thanks for pointing it out to me. Yes, clean sheets or ones in patterned moonlight.....clarity or confusion.......which is which?......Not always apparent.......things are always hidden.....and, sometimes, unknown forces hold sway, anyway....so, control may be somewhat illusionary....

Thanks, James. For some reason the end of your poem reminds me of the end of this poem. ...Clean sheets are an example Of something that, under many circumstances, A person can control. The patterns moonlight makes Are chancier, and dreams, well, dreams Will have their way with you, their way With you, will have their way.
