I move, he moves, I move
Again and again, and again
Though we are doing
Futari keiko - paired practice
It seems as though
I am doing hitori keiko - solo practice
My mind seems detached
Following both our movements
As nage, as uke, as uke, as nage...
Well, you get it...
As both at once...
More of a jukko keiko --
A meditative practice
I calmly watch his feet, his hands
I feel his center and move with it
The koshi-nage feels smooth
The irimi-nage, less so
Still, the flow is all there
I can see it, feel it, follow it
I just have to let it all go
And have faith in my own abilities
And that the center can hold
