Hobo Kore Dojo

Your life is your dojo
Aikido beyond the mat
Where imbalance is rampant
Struggle and frustration
A way of life
Love and harmony
A constant effort
To strive for and achieve

But, if you can see it
Aikido is everywhere
Opportunities to blend
And flow and connect
A whole life
Of walls and barriers
To overcome or fall short

Falling down is not defeat
Take ukemi
And get back up
Falling down is natural
Not getting back up
Is defeat

Thanks, Michael. Just heard that I'll be going to another. Must be my age group.

James Sawers Says:
MIchael: Can't think of a better example of what I was trying to say, but in a much, more profound way. In fact, I am on my way to a wake in a few minutes. Another learning moment, perhaps, another chance at ukemi. Thanks for sharing. Jim...

This summer, I was not at my dojo. A death in my family and problems kept me away. However, I found myself ever deeper in training. Sitting in the hospital for weeks, I spent much time in breathing meditation. I was mindful of life within me and around me. I am now returning to the dojo in a stronger place. It was not four months of no training. It was four months of much training. Training in life. That is what we train for. To live. Michael Wolfe, 3rd Dan, South Carolina Ki Aikido
