So many years now
The years, decades
Roll on by
Seems like forever
And like only yesterday Hajime! -- I begin
I began -- I become
I am becoming
Each day the anxious focus
The focus on all the details
All the small, important details
Trying to get them right
The movements, the forms
The techniques, the kata
All the practices, all the sweat
All the pain, frustration, joy
Everything beginning afresh each day Hajime! -- I begin, I began, I become
I am becoming.....
But, enzan -- the far mountain
Appears no closer
