As I practice
Out of the corner of my eye
I catch your statue Fudo Myo-o
Binder of demons
Tucked neatly, reverently
In the kamiza Following my every move
Burn off my anger
Purify my mind
Let Kurikara cut
Cleanly through my ignorance
Let my spirit be immovable
All my demons -
My limitations and my needs
I think all these thoughts
As I practice and train
I cycle through partner after partner
I throw or pin
Then, it is done to me
Again and again
Years go by, decades
Always, I watch fierce Fudo Myo-o Binder of demons
Hoping for a little compassion
