Started with shomen uchi last night with my new group. They have had about 20 lessons right now. First explained how a shomen is done and practised this for a while. Showed a shomenstrike with the sword and told them to cut and not to hit like a hammer.
Next did some taisabaki with shomenattack. Once more it became clear that beginners have trouble with moving! But the group did fine.
As a technique we did shomen uchi iriminage. Pretty tough because it is quite different with a dynamic attack.
As "homework" we did Ikkyo undo. We will go on with this next week.
