Wendy G Walker?

Greetings all

I thought some in here might like this, yet I did also have one question and that is if anyone on here knows of the author - Wendy Walker who wrote a great introductory book on Aikido? I can't find any further reference to her on Google outside of her book, nor on the Aikido organisation page that she was involved with in the book?

If you go to Stanley Pranin's Aikido Journal website, you will find a comprehensive bibliography maintained by Clark Bateman, who is a member here. You can find an introduction to aikido written by the said Wendy Walker, also containing a brief self introduction. I am not sure if the Facebook page really shows a book that has been published.

Best wishes,

Re: Wendy G Walker?

Hi Peter, thank you for the heads up on the Aikido Journal site!

In this case I have her book already and consider it to be one of the very best books I have in my collection of books on Aikido. Yet it was printed in the 1990's. I am interested to see what the author is up to these days and if she still is involved in Aikido?

Re: Wendy G Walker?

Thanks for the plug, Professor!

Ben, the last and only info I have about Wendy Walker (it's not recent) is that she was teaching beginners classes in Coventry, England under Pat Stratford Sensei. Stratford Sensei retired a few years ago, ceding his teaching duties to John Gaynor Sensei. It is possible that Gaynor Sensei can shed some light on Wendy Walker for you. He can be contacted by e-mail here.

Hope this helps you in your search... Cheers.
