YouTube: O'Sensei
http://youtu.be/XA8sdADVtZA
The link is to an O'Sensei video that many may not have seen. The commentary is very philosophical so I place it here.
I also think, as it shows him teaching, like a school teacher, it serves as another little window into 'part' of his teaching methods.
Thirdly, it has many Japanese words and symbols in it which those who love translating may find interesting.
Fourthly, may it be inspirational to one and all.
Finally I'll end with my usual humour, hidden in plain sight, watch for the power of the beard.......
Regards.G.

Re: O'Sensei
So the question is, when did we last recite the norito in front of the kamidana after offering the shinsen?

Re: O'Sensei
This is a segment of a documentary shot by NHK (but never broadcast) in about 1960.
I believe its available from Aikido Journal.
Good documentary but the commentary is a little po-faced for me.

Think so too.
If I remember right, this was one of the first videos of Ueshiba I ever watched.

Re: YouTube: O'Sensei
Yes it is available from aikido journal, it is a DVD entitled founder of aikido volume 6, superb quality. Not too expensive either. It also contains at the end a surviving interview O'sensei gave on a radio station. Highly recommended.
I'm learning the norito, although proving difficult, because Osensei had his own version, which is based on the Omoto version that differs from state authorised Shinto version.

Re: YouTube: O'Sensei
Is it ironic or serious, Demetrio ? I heard of him, but I know very little about him. Anyone care to provide context ?

Totally serious. Shapiro Sensei scares me in a way I find totally fascinating.
