Hi Guys,
I'm wondering how many of you have got the Bujin Design hakama with the Aiki koshita and how you think it compares with the traditional koshita in terms of asthetics, comfort and practicality.
As you've probably guessed, I'm thinking of getting one and would appreciate the reviews of people who are actually using one. Thanks.
Ken

aiki koshita
I've had a Bu Jin hakama with an aiki-style koshita for about 10 years. It's held up well. I think it looks fine.
If you get the heavy cotton/poly blend, you can throw the whole thing in the washer and dryer. There's no rigid koshita to damage and the cotton/poly pleats are perma-press.

Re: aiki koshita
I got the standard koshita and used the hakama for almost 5 years doing Iaido. When I came back to Aikido I sent it back to Bujin and had them replace the koshita with the aiki version.
I love it. You can't go wrong.
Cheers, Jeff

Re: aiki koshita
Unless you are buying it from another person, I don't see how you are going to get an aiki koshita from bujin (they closed ::sniffle). I had strongly considered getting an aiki version because I hear it is great for ukemi, but I didn't think it would work well for iaido.
If you aren't looking at them at bujin, may I ask where you have found another supplier that does? I would like to get one in the future.

9 year old thread ash.
I like my aiki koshita just fine. I liked the traditional one too. Not sure yet which I prefer.

Re: aiki koshita
::smacks self in head:: I didn't even realize it was old with the recent posts. Gah.... zombie threads! Why was this even commented on. I don't see why you would revive a thread this old to say your koshita melted. My fault for not realizing it was so old.....
