Tadashi Abe & Aritomo Murashige

Dear all,

I like to do (totally informal…) historical lineage research on the tradition of aikido in which I practice. I am looking for information on Tadashi Abe and Aritomo (Aritoshi) Murashige Senseis, the former a teacher of André Nocquet Sensei, the later possibly also. There seems to be little to no information available about them, apart from scattered websites in French.

Both were students of O-Sensei and taught in France (and Belgium) in the fifties and early sixties, "pre-Tamura". Yes, I have already done Google searches and looked at the more obvious online resources --what I would be most interested in is whether there is any written material that you know of, in Western languages, in old Judo, Aikido or other MA books, or the like, or maybe less obvious, possibly longer texts on the web?

All help is appreciated

thanks!

Re: Tadashi Abe & Aritomo Murashige

Hi

Cant really help much except to say that Tadashi Abe was teaching in France between 1952 and 53 and again in 1961.

I'll watch this thread with interest since Abe was one of the early teachers of Pierre Chassang who I've been lucky enough to train with for a long time.

He may have taught continually - these are just the dates where Pierre has him listed as a teacher.

Good luck in your search.

Re: Tadashi Abe & Aritomo Murashige

I was looking for info on Murashige last year but there was precious little available, see here:

http://www.aikiweb.com/forums/showth...ight=murashige

pretty much limited to that and a couple of hazy photo's.

A difficult problem is easily solved by asking yourself the question, "Just how would the Lone Ranger handle this?"

Bryan, thanks for the link, and Demetrio, thanks so much for the books - it will take a while to go through them, but they seem quite interesting indeed! Any more info appreciated any time

Best
