Martial Arts for Kidz

Not a nice thing to think about, but shows you the value of fight training, you always gotta fight back...from today's Vancouver Sun....

A quick-thinking 12-year-old boy from Langley managed to elude a man who was trying to kidnap him near 268th Street and Fraser Highway. Police say the boy was walking home from a friend's house Friday around 6 p.m. when a man jumped out of a car and tried to drag him into the vehicle. The suspect grabbed the victim by the shirt collar and began dragging him towards his vehicle. The boy told his parents that he was able to make his escape by slipping out of the man's grasp and kicking him in the knees. Police have not made any arrests in the case...

I teach college and I had a female student last year who was being stalked and actually quit the course because it interfered too much with her life. One shot from the ASP or a good stream of foam pepper spray and that dude would have been down for the count, with cops on the way.

You always gotta stand up for number one. If they hassle you, hit back, hard. Better to be judged by 12 rather than carried by 6.

So should children study aikido? You betcha!

BTW

This is not the ONLY reason kidz should train, but its a good motivator to parents when the child is saying "I don't wanna go, its boring...I wanna play hockey instead....", kids gotta know how to fight and most importantly, how to avoid and prevent them...
