Re: Anyone in the Northwest Georgia Area

Ryan - There used to be a dojo in Commerce GA. Downtown Commerce I believe.
Otherwise I would recommend:
2295 Skelton Road, Suite B-3; Gainesville, GA 30504 (Map)
Country: United States
Instructors: Thomas Dapogny, 3rd dan
Schedule: MW 7-9pm
E-mail: AikidoNorthGeorgia@gmail.com
URL: http://www.AikidoNorthGeorgia.org
Style: Ki Aikido

Re: Anyone in the Northwest Georgia Area

It is still there, just to far away from me. I would be happy just to speak with a student alittle closer to me. Hopefully if this post stays here long enough someone maybe even in my same city might see it.

Thanks, Ryan

Re: Anyone in the Northwest Georgia Area

I'm afraid that I don't know any Georgia based aikidoists, but using the dojo search function on this site it looks like you either will have to go down the Atlanta area, where there are several dojos, or up to Chattanooga, TN (www.rivercityaikikai.org).

Roswell, GA too far?

If not, try Roswell Budokan.

Speaking as someone from the wilds of NH, if you insist on living in a place like NW GA and want to practice an art like aikido, I recommend a car with good gas mileage and a stock of books on tape.

Re: Anyone in the Northwest Georgia Area

Check out Mountain Wind Aikikai in Rome. Roach Sensei is a great guy and a very gifted person both on and off the mat. You can contact him via e mail on the web site. The dojo is also on face book.
