New book "Searching for O'Sensei" by Tom Collings

Posted 2016-02-23 12:30:50 by Tom Collings
News URL: http://liasc.org

Announcing publication of a new book "Search for O'Sensei - Learning & Living the Wisdom of the Warrior" by Tom Collings (IAF 6th Dan). It chronicles training and prominent Aikido masters at both Hombu Dojo and Iwama during the 1970's. The story follows Collings back to the rough streets of New York City during the crack epidemic of the 1980's, where aikido principles were tested in many high risk situations in both mental health and police work. (available amazon.com)

Re: New book "Searching for O'Sensei" by Tom Collings

This book is a must read for serious Aikidoists. Tom Sensei's experiences at Hombu, Iwama, Shingu, etc. are personal, funny, and insightful. The book closes with his personal applications of Aiki principles as a social worker and law enforcement officer in NY.
