Hi Larry,

I didn't get to see the site, I just got a message about the daily 20meg transfer limit being exceeded, and a couple of very annoying pop-ups.

Maybe it might be worth looking into hosting your website somewhere else. Another free hosting service, like Geocities or something?

Or maybe its just a temporary problem, I'll try again tomorrow.

Regards

Sean

Sorry about that guys.

The site has been having so much traffic since the update it had apparently reached a preset daily limit for the service that i never knew of and had not seen previously.

I apologise for the popups, though this service has been pretty good so far so I think I'll just look into the costs of paying for the service sometimes soon to avoid the ad attacks.

Since this is a daily limit problem, the site should appear fine tomorrow as I think the initial rush is over.

Thank you for your interest.

Oops, sorry about the double post - I'm not quite sure how I managed to do that.

I tried again and still couldn't get at it, this time it just timed out, maybe 0catch is down at the moment. I'll try again next time I'm online. (Could be a few days though, I'm in the middle of moving house. I really shouldn't be reading the forums now, I ought to be packing the computer up in boxes. )

It works for me. I'll take a good look later. You might want to inform Shodokan Honbu about the link so that they might add it to the network. Trinidad and Tabbago are not on the network at all - but your teacher did train at Honbu. Of course he is in England now so that might have something to do with it - or its an oversight.

Hey Guys,

Peter,

Yes my instructor did train at Hombu under Nariyama, as well as with the UK Shodokan guys - Phil Newcombe and the bunch I think, and still returns to update us on what's new in Shodokan as evolutions in techniques, kata and shiai rules etc. at least once a year.

Had emailed the administrator of the Honbu website many months ago when the site first came up, regarding being listed in the network, but got no reply. Never bothered about it since actually. I've realised that there are MANY Shodokan sites that are not reflected in the Honbu listing.

Sean,

Looking into paying a few dollars to get premium support for the site. I have checked it recently and is working fine so far, the popups and daily bandwidth limit issues should end soon. Manuel had a point about putting too much stuff on Saving hard to get to Leeds in July-August. Hope to see you at the festival.

The Featured Techniques section is still being constructed as I plan to use that area to show step by step technical responses to certain conflict scenarios. Just got the camcorder so those techs may show up in a while. What do u guys think of the idea though?

I guess it was triggered by some Aikiweb responses to a question of how one handles a round punch, among other things

Anyways, gimme your honest feedback as I plan to improve it even more in future.

Arigato Gozaimashita

I couldn't get past the pop-ups. Whenever I go to a site that has these, I just log right out of it (they are simply too annoying to bother with). There must be some inexpensive hosting plan where you don't get pop-ups.

good luck though,

Rachel

Rachel,

Your post was what I needed to hear. The popups are now gone.

By the way Larry. In your links the Quebec Dojo is now Himeji Shodokan. The address does not change.

I perused your site. Very nice.
