Help us create a Dojo in the West Bank

Posted 2011-11-10 07:04:45 by Aikido Without Borders
News URL: http://www.aikidowithoutborders.org/projects/

Aikido Without Borders is an NGO working in Israel/ Palestine that believes in the art of Aikido as powerful agent for change. AWB is currently trying to start a youth project the village of Jib, an ancient farming community located near Ramallah in the West Bank. Our AWB trained instructor Mr. Ghassan Elayan, has lived in Jib his whole life and is only the second Palestinian to receive an Aikikai shodan. It is Mr. Elayan's desire to bring aikido to bring Aikido to the children and youth of Jib. With cooperation from the Jib village council he has secured a training space but to make it a Dojo they also need the equipment (mat and his).

To make this happen AWB is trying to raise the funds for 100 mē of mats, and 15 gis. The total sum needed to make this happen is 2,298 euros.
If you want to support this worthy initiative please don't hesitate to contact us at :

Online donations please choose the "Jib Project" from here -http://www.israelgives.org/donor/israelcharities/searchprojects?Name=aikido

Thank you for reading.
AWB
