Greetings

Hello I joined this site a little while ago and was reminded to post an introduction so here goes...
I started Ki-Aikido at a Parks and Rec class in 1979 and trained for about 3 years until I graduated from college, got married and started a job that was on swing shift all at once. I was hired as an officer at the county jail and after finishing the Corrections Officers Academy I resumed training in 1989. This was another P & R class (Affiliated with Seattle Ki Society) that lost it's sponsorship with one city, started over at another, lost that one too and then we practiced for a while at the training center at a nearby prison. The instructor works there. We lost that home too and I recently realized it's been almost 3 years that I've been waiting for our group to start up again.
So I've decided to start training again after I get into better shape. I have an arm injury that needs to heal first and I want to loose some weight before I start again. My goal is next January. I've joined this forum for support and I just like reading and discussing aikido.
John

Re: Greetings

Well I'm back after 15 years!?
Since that original post I went back to training, got injured (torn muscle in abdomen) then didn't resume training due to new job position that resulted in returning to swing shift which meant no training due to my schedule. When that finally changed I thought about starting back but never did.
Then I retired in April of 2017 and moved to Meridian Idaho. I looked online for dojo but didn't see anything that struck my fancy and I was/am very out of shape. Then last September I found a Ki Development class through a community education program that turned out was being taught by my original instructor from my class back in 1979!! Well that was a message from the universe I could not ignore so I signed up. Turned out I was the only student but we continued and I am now training with him at his home where he has started a new dojo. Hopefully we can attract some more students and make it work.
