Dojo software needed

Hi list. I'm doing some research on behalf of my dojo, and hoping that someone here has the answers I need. Basically, we are looking for some sort of member tracking software--something that will let us track name/address/email as well as hours/days attended, rank, last promotion date, etc. It would be a bonus if said software had a function that would let students sign themselves in when they arrive for class, but at a minimum it should be easy for someone else to sign in students as they arrive. It should be able to print various reports (total students, children students, mailing labels, students who have met minimum hour requirements for testing, etc.) It would be a very nice bonus if said software was open-source, but at a minimum is should be cheap.

Any suggestions?

Oh, and happy holidays to everyone.

My father in law and I developed a tracking/payment program in VB. Works really well and is easy to link up to PeachTree for accounting purposes. I'm sure anyone with some programming knowledge can handle it.

MicroSoft Access works well. It has a number of database templates that a beginner can modify or you can jump right in and create your own if you are comfortable with that.

Check e-budo. There have been threads over the years on it. For the most part, I suspect what you want and cheap or free don't go together. You may have to roll your own.

You're describing a very automated software which is hard to find cheaply.

If you don't mind a more manual work, try excel. There's tons of @ formulas there for any kind of database building.

It just takes work. But it's free
