Aikido Songs!

Hey all!
You all know about the "aikido songs"? well I took one and got the music and made a karaoke file of one!

It took a while but I did one. It is "killing me softly with nikkyo" Janet Rosen did the words.

if you would like to try it you need a karaoke player on your computer.

I found one for free, it is a little different. The web site for the player is….

http://www.vanbasco.com/download_mid...e_display.html

Check it out, it will not let me attach it to the thread, if you want it i will e mail it,
my e mail is

ben_t_shodan@hotmail.com

if any one knows how to do it otherwise let me know please.

If any one would like others that are on the aikido faq page, let me know.

Your uke,
Ben

p.s. my advice, save the attachment on your desktop so it is easy to find, any questions, send me a message!

The one who knows the least knows it the loudest.

Re: Aikido Songs!

Martin:
Here is the url for the songs:

http://www.aikidofaq.com/songbook/index.html

I remember when we put together a bunch of them- I started the "50 ways to throw your uke" but it got enhanced by the teamwork. That is the magic of forums like this. (I think it was actually started on the aikido listserve) Anyhow, it is a hoot. Anyone want to start a new song? (I can't get "Does your belt hang low" out of my head!)

;^)
e ya later
Jill.

Re: Aikido Songs!

this is not precisely and aikido song, but something that we sang in the pub afterwards occasionally. It is to the tune of On Top of Old Smokey.

Tescooo, Tesco Valueee,
Tesco, the best for me and you!
(chorus)

If you're on a budget, Tesco's the place to be,
For Tesco sells all sorts of things
For less than fifty P!
Tesco value flour, twenty seven p! Tesco value baked beans, only eleven pence a can!

If you feel a tad too fat, try Tesco Healthy Choice,
There's lots of kinds, it all tastes nice,
And without calorific vice!

Tesco sells all sorts of things,
From peas to eggs to ham
Flour, butter, sugar too,
and Tax-Free Savings Plans!!

Tesco is a British supermarket, and an institution in my town. I am spreading the word of the Tesco Song.

Re: Aikido Songs!

Here's a little tune someone in the dojo just started singing on day.

Oh, I've been working on aikido, all the live long day, ikkyo-nikyo-sankyo-yonkyo, just to pass the time of day. Oh I've been working on aikido..........anyway you get the idea, I'm going to go hide now.

Re: Aikido Songs!

Is it ok to print these out and hang them up in public?

...Errr, I mean, are they proprietary?

Re: Aikido Songs!

Raising the cultural bar a little, in classes during the winter I can't help thinking of that scene from Puccini's "La Boheme": "Your tiny hand is frozen"...

Re: Aikido Songs!

I love it when songs fit with Aikido. Like that one song about irimi nage, "Put Your Head On My Shoulder."
There are quite a few that have at least one line that fits Aikido somehow. "Tossin' and Turnin'" "You Spin Me Right 'Round" "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" "I Think I'm Falling For You" "Hurts So Good"
The list goes on.

Wait, umm... what?

Re: Aikido Songs!

My favorite is the infinitely flexible Village People song, In the Dojo:

In the Dojo,
you can walk round on your knees,
In the Dojo,
you can wear your sweaty Gis....

etc etc
