Yoshinkai books

Good day to all of you aikidokas

I was recently looking for a book from the yoshinkan dojo. I do believe that it is from Inoue Sensei.

I was told that it was a continuity of total aikido: the master course.

I would be most gratefull for any assistance.

Thank you very much Steven.

Have you (or anyone else from this forum ) had a chance to read this book?

If so, what did you think of it? Because I have yet to read any reviews for this book and I would like to purchase it.

The book that I am refering to is: The Official Yoshinkan Aikido Training Manual.

Maybe someone could even do a review for this web site. Surely, I am not the only one that would like to know about the book!

Well, I'm not prepared at this point to do a review, but I highly recommend the book. I still go back to it to refresh myself on certain basics. And I think it is excellent for beginners.

Matthieu,

This book is entry level and really focuses on Yoshinkan basics, including ukemi. One advantage it has over Dynamic and Total Aikido is it is written in both Japanese and English. It is a good source for clarification on specific points on the basics, as it the other two mentioned.

Personally, I like Total Aikido better because all the captions and text are on the same two pages when you have the book open. The honbu dojo book requires flipping pages.

I perfer not to have to flip back and forth, but that is just me. I recommend getting it because the content is excellent.

...cheers...
