Since I'm not able to do aikido...

...I stopped contributing to the Mirror column.
But a few months ago I got my hands/arms to where I could do some weapons work, and found a local study group in my area doing Suio Ryu Iai Kenpo, and am loving it. Despite the challenge of not being able to cut worth a darn...but that's another story...
what I wanted to let folks know is that I do still enjoy writing, and have started a blog as a space to muse once or twice a wk on martial arts and fine arts, over at http://zanshinart.blogspot.com/
or I suppose if you wanted to start at the beginning, at http://zanshinart.blogspot.com/2007/...i-am-here.html
So just inviting my aikiweb friends to come over for a visit.

Are you with Brian Stokes group? He seems like a good guy with good solid waza. Pretty amazing how many things there are to do wrong in iai eh?

Thanks to all for best wishes!

Christian, don't know if our affiliation is w/ his San Diego group or directly w/ the Anaheim group. At this point, matters not - the folks leading my local group train w/ the Soke whenever possible and are certainly in a position to guide my training for the foreseeable future.

As for things that can go wrong...heheheheh...yeah. I was told a couple of wks ago that I my demo was "elegant." I suspect this is a euphemism for "the list of what was wrong is too long for us to go into right now."
