24hrs to shodan.

Well, here we are.

Tomorrow night is testing; I might be a tad nervous (more excited, but a little nervous), but at least I have seen this one coming for a while. Two shodans will be testing for nidan and Sensei will be testing for sandan...which they only found out about 2 days ago. Yoiks.

It occured to me while talking to someone (a newbie, i think) that there are more dan ranks than kyu ranks; that alone should tell you where shodan stands on the scale of importance.

Kashimura Sensei (5th dan) has been visiting us for almost 2 weeks now with nearly daily practices, and we are all sore but happy. Some picks can be found here

Anyways, I just wanted to say to everyone on this forum that you have all helped, in some way, to get me to this point in my training, and for that I thank you.

Good luck. And remember - mistakes are you're friend. When the inevitable mistake happens, it's just a chance to show what you really know by adapting and finishing uke anyway. Have fun.

Oh, and give me my sig line back...

Re: 24hrs to shodan.

Best of luck. I'd say break a leg...but that is for acting...and might be inappropriate for martial arts :-)

So, be focused.

Be calm and best of luck to you and all your mates testing.
