Re: aikido politics - implications on training opportunities
So can anyone discuss the "great purge of 2014" in Australia? Though I am not in Australia, the issues may affect my training, and i would like to know more.

Re: "Great Purge of 2014" in Australia?
Strange, this post of mine was supposed to be on another anonymous thread. Moderators, can you explain why this ended up here? I am confused. Also, I have no direct knowledge of this issue, only what I have read on other websites from affected dojos and that is why i am asking. Probably few people who know anything will want to discuss it without anonymity so by making this a separate open thread the discussion has been stifled I would guess.

I'm curious to know about this too since I began Aikido in Australia.

Re: "Great Purge of 2014" in Australia?
It might help if you told us what organization this relates to... There has certainly been some upheaval in my organisation, but I don't know anything about a great purge, so I'm guessing it must relate to another one...

Re: "Great Purge of 2014" in Australia?
I strongly suspect it's a reference to Aikido Yuishinkai.

Perhaps if the forum is open, a pm is not necessary? Can't questions be asked here?

Can? Yes. Will? Possibly no. See Steven Shimanek's comment above. Sometimes there is a good reason for anonymity.

Feel free to do as you like. From your blog I can see that this issue is dear to your heart, to the point that you signed up to Aikiweb merely to comment on this thread. I had (possibly incorrectly) assumed that, as you had not gone into detail in your previous post, you would prefer to talk to the OP via PM. It's up to you.
FWIW, while I was not familiar with the term "great purge," I am familiar with the sequence of events to which it seems to refer and I have PMed the OP with what I know.

I like this mysterious thread. Many one liners. A secret purge. It must be a conspiracy. Keep it coming, but please do not give any facts, that would be so boring...

Is it spreading to other countries? Do we need to send troops to contain it?

I still haven'y heard from a moderator how this ended up in its own thread instead of being a reply to an anonymous post as it was intended.

Re: "Great Purge of 2014" in Australia?
Steven, I believe this was explained somewhere, but I don't see it here. Anyway, Jun does this sometimes when he thinks that a thread has derailed (i.e., splits it off, starts a new thread and if he feels it appropriate, places it in a different forum). Short answer, because Jun saw fit to do it that way.

Sure, questions can be asked. But so far, all that's really happened here is innuendo and pointers to more innuendo. If folks are going to air their dirty laundry here, I'd prefer, not that my opinion carries any weight, that they actually hang out their wadged panties rather than hint around that there are wadged panties, somewhere, because of something. Let us all in on the fun, or not, please dont be a tease....

Or not. Prurience is not an admirable trait and IMO should not be indulged.

Re: "Great Purge of 2014" in Australia?
As the (now, since this response was split by the cybergods) the OP, I can say that this was something I heard regarding Yuishinkai, which is the organization in which I have trained. It seems that some dojos has chosen to leave the organization, and I wondered why. Several individuals have apparently been removed from the organization as well. Originally i posted this as a response to the anonymous thread regarding truing (edit: training) opportunities and politics. Not trying to muckrake; I have only been with aikido for about 5 years, and just trying to understand.
