Silva told Tatame that people need to stop cracking on Seagal. He learned a lot from the movie star.
Quoted for significance, as Anderson Silva is perhaps the greatest pound-for-pound fighter in MMA.

Re: Lyoto Machida training with Steven Seagal

For all the naysayers…

I watched MMA Live on ESPN after Anderson Silva's spectacular knock out of Vitor Belfort with a front kick. Silva credited Seagal for the effectiveness of that technique. I did a quick search for the interview, but couldn't find it. Wouldn't be surprised if it pops up in a few days. To paraphrase, when asked why he threw the kick, he said that although it was a technique that he had always known, he has specifically been working on it with Seagal.

Now, who knows? Maybe the Spider was just trying to indulge Seagal. Maybe he wasn't.

For anyone who didn't see the fight, here is a clip of the end (no guarantee on how long the link will be good).

Thanks: I was going to post this. What a knockout! I was watching, and it was just...it came from nowhere.

That link you gave links to the Seagal reference:

In case the video gets pulled, here's a gif, and video of Seagal - looking like his wife dressed him - talking about the kick, post-fight.
