Re: Akido Training...

A question on backfall.

I have problem to perform right backfall correctly.
Each time I fall, I always fall along the middle line of my body. Instead on the side of my shoulder.
Then, I always get a thump! on my head.

Should I have my left hand put at my left shoulder, face turn and watching my left hand, while let my right hand go all flat ; or left hand over my right shoulder, face at left, right hand flat out?

My right shoulder feel like a ball on top of a stone, rolling on the flatroad when backfall at right side. Do feel some pain.
Is that normal?

Also, during flip jump, the arm must always touch the floor 1st before the body and legs. How to make my arm less painful when it touch the floor? It feels like a slap in the face but it is the whole arm.

Gimme practical idea that I can do the flip and backfall without using tatami or go for extra training class? I needa practice on my own place...
