isometrics for aikido?

does anyone know if (dynamic) isometrics work for conditioning for aikido?

Isometrics ROCK! I know and teach lots in my class's, come to Fresno and I'll show you what I do, but it's a little difficult to exsplain them on here. Hey do you know Heather Rowe, if so tell her to call me or else!

No, dynamic tension to my understanding is something different. As I understand it Dynamic Tension is the practice of using your muscle's against themselves. Like working your bicep against your tricep to work both. Isometrics is the practice of using your strength against an immovable object. Like pushing on a wall, or in a door frame. Most of my exercises are actually what I believe are called eccentric isometrics, where you actually work against a force that is stronger then you and overcomes your power. I use it to build stronger stance, and develop physical power. I believe Isometrics are likely the quickest, cheapest, legal way to build power.

Sorry, I dont know a Heather rowe I think I agree with you. after my workout last night, I nearly collapsed! I mostly use dynamic tension, but throw in more conventional isometrics alot. for ISOs, I use a rope and a tree! And finally, I'm 13, and don't have a car or licence so i can't come to fresno!
