Not particularly...... But if it floats some peoples boats then fair enough.... who am I to criticise!!?

There are enough deluded so called martial artists much in the same category as this......... some more modern day "samurai" won't make much difference and do you really care?

Be happy in knowing the truth if you really want it!!?

I see no harm as they don't claim to be anything but what they are. How is this different than the actors at Highland Games events or Renaissance Faires? Probably good exercise, but not my cup of tea either.

But unfortunately... this is not a martial art, or an actual lesson on how to fight with swords. So, for the entire real swordsman out there, we would like to apologize. From the eyes of the real swordsman, there may be parts that seem wrong, but we wish for some forgiveness. Yes, these sword lessons that we give, may not be useful in real fights. I also find it interesting that they use the kunyomi pronounciation for 剣 (tsurugi) rather than the onyomi (ken)

I think the same question applies if you ask, "Would you like to be a Knight of the middle ages or a Jedi? IMHO The question creates the thought is that we as human beings and in particular martial artists seek to be something greater than the mundane. We go to work, pay the bills, and are loved by our families and friends but there is a sense of "Is this all there is to my life?"
I find studying the martial arts allows me to confront who I really am and draws me to become more than I am. To be more compassionate, more loving, less fearful, less aggressive, more confident, strong, wise, humble.
Aikido is a way for me to pursue my true self. It allows me to develop skills at self defense but beyond that it allows me to develop my heart and soul to a higher level than I could without it. Yes, there are many paths to the top of the mountain but mine is the path of the martial artist. With all the difficulties and frustrations, the plateaus, the thrill of learning, the pain, and yes even tears. it still remains MY path. In some mysterious way it chose me and I choose to walk the path.
Do I want to be a samurai? I would have to say that I want to walk the path of the martial artist and this particular path up the mountain was created by the Samurai. If that means I want to be in a similar mindset and heart to serve then yes I want to be a Samurai! I think this Samurai path is one that we choose to follow but in some mysterious way it has chosen me to walk it. Perhaps the universe draws us all to a particular path to enlightenment and we all here share a similar pathway.

Exactly!!

But they're quite honest about it, and they even apologized from the martial artists. So, I can't seen any problems. This is something like an acting or dancing class, I think.

I'm glad they're being honest about what they're doing. It's just the wording behind their plug - kind of an attempt to be cool.
Also (and I'm sure many Japan-based members will back me up on this one) the neo-nationalism and revisionism is a bit tiring - the repeated platitudes of "Japanese people are unique" (as opposed to ...?); Japanese is cool (manga and cosplay); Bushishido is such a great book (even though it was written by someone who was never a bushi for a conservative American audience, and the author was trying to reconcile his Christian faith with Japan's feudalistic past)
But that's just me.
