Quotes
Maybe some of you would like to help me. We are looking to design some T-shirts for our dojo and we would like to use a quote from O'Sensei or another prominent figure in the world of Aikido. So I am wondering what are some of your favorite quotes relating to the practice and the philosophy of Aikido?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

While I can't say I have "a favorite" one that I spend alot of time with lately is.
There is no enemy of love. There is no discord in love. Aikido is the realization of love.

Aikido is origami (sp?) with people...
Seriously, what "type" of quotes do you want, philosofical? funny? Dokas?
Dokas can be found here:

I don't know who said this first:

I know I'm slightly out of topic but I always wanted a shirt that said this,
" Do you know who I am? "
It reminds me of many of the local politicians who go to a hotel expecting special service and when they get irritated would say, "Do you know who i am? I'm so and so". And i just found it all so superficial and a bunch of baloney but it was pretty funny when the lady at the concierge said " No, but whoever you are you still have to wait." Haha I love it.

Ran into this on the net sometime ago:
"If I wanted to see men dancing in dresses, I would have gone to a gay bar" - Jon Bluming when he visited the Aikikai Hombu dojo.
No offense intended towards my fellow aikidoka, of course...it's just something that keeps me from taking myself too seriously...
Regards,

I have a t-shirt with the seal of the US on it and in small print below the seal it says Federal Witness Protection Program. Below that in large block letters it says: YOU DON"T KNOW ME

I've always like this one:
Leave your ego with your shoes: off the mats.
Good luck with your shirts

Hello,
This quote is not directly related to Aikido, but it is my favorite, as it pertains to my career.
"In distinguishing the advantages of the tools of warriors, we find that whatever the weapon, there is a time and situation in which it is appropriate."
- Miyamoto Musashi

Have posted this previously, but it seems to fit well here.

Thanks for all your input. Got some good responses so far. Keep'em coming. I'm not sure what we are looking for yet. We just need one that seems to capture our dojos personality. So it doesn't matter if it's serious, funny or just plain makes no sense. I will take the list and then we will decide as a group.
Bcole23--I have a sister that lives near you over in Driggs, ID. I was lucky enough to see some pretty big mountain men in a bar room brawl. I would definitely say you need the "harm" out there. Nothing seemed to keep those boys down.

Okay...this definitely isn't an "Aikido" saying (or philosophy) but it is my all time favorite MA quote/philosophy (obviously...since it's my signature)
kono yo ha jaku niku kyou shoku=In this world, the weak are the food of the strong.
Also...it looks really cool in Kanji too
