What makes something an Art

This article was posted on the Aikido journal blog, but I thought I would post it here and see what other people thought of it.

What makes a Martial activity an Art?

It was a very well written, but the Arther came to some odd conclusions. He seems not to realize that for a Martial Artist utility come first, that is the martial aspect, perfection of that utility and of himself makes him a Artist. Nothing that is incomplete can be perfect, a technique only half done is not perfection, which is what everyone who practices a martial art strives for.
