Hi!

I'm Rebecca and I'm new here. I've been doing aikido since I was 11, and I'm 24 now. I currently train at the Boulder Aikikai but I started out under Bruce Bookman Sensei in Seattle and still train at his dojo when I'm visiting my family. I did, however, end up taking a hiatus when I was in college due to the fact I didn't like the one dojo in the town I was going to college in. I fulfilled my martial arts additcion by practicing Shotokan Karate, but the hard arts really don't suit me, or I don't suit the hard arts, so I'm back to aikido now. While I was in college I was only able to do aikido during breaks when I went home so I got quite rusty. So I made a point of picking graduate schools where there was good aikido, and since the University of Washington rejected me I ended up in Boulder. Worse things can happen. I'm currently finishing my second year of a doctorate program in biochemistry. I have no idea when or if I will ever graduate so please don't ask! I've known about AikiWeb since 1997 or 1998. It just took me a little while to finally sign up. No excuse really.

Anyone know how the Aiki Extensions Seminar is going?

Re: Hi!

Hi Rebecca,

Nice to have you here. Welcome!

As far as the Aiki Extensions seminar is going, you'll find a link to one person's AikiBlog about it here.

Re: Hi!

Hi Rebecca,
Welcome to Aikiweb (even though you've got years of experience over me! )
Hope you continue to enjoy training and good luck with your doctorate in any case! I have some friends here that study biochemistry, so I know from them it's alot of hard work.
Have fun!
Anat
