Sometimes, that moment
That moment of enlightenment - Satori, is not the pleasant
If not joyous experience
It is touted to be
It is not always beautiful
And harmonious...
Life as it really is
To see the true nature of things
This can sometimes be a sad
If not a heart-wrenching thing
My eyes looked and saw
And my mind expanded to fit
This new and extensive insight
But inside I quailed
And closed my eyes in pain
Wishing my new realization
My satori would disappear
As quickly as it had arrived
