Hi, im new to aikido and i will be taking my first grading ever soon and it will be for 6th kyu and was wondering if i could get any help.
for the examination i need to be able to do:
Randori-no-kata 1-5

1. Shomen-ate

2. Ai-gamae-ate

3. Gyaku-gamae-ate

4. Gedan-ate

5. Ushiro-ate
I was just wondering if someone knew where i could get a video clip or something of this so i could see how to improve my technique. would help loads. Any tips at all or past experiences would be greatly appreciated aswell.

If you don't know something, don't act like you do. Some of my kohai did that at their testing and it negatively effected their results. Just admit your shortcomings and do your best. ;)

Hi Matthew,

The two links that Jun posted are what you need - the first (http://homepage2.nifty.com/shodokan/en/kyogi10a.html) one has all 5 techniques on the same page. But theres a catch (dont worry its just a little one).

Those clips are of the tanto randori on kata, and you'll be doing the toshu randori no kata.
The techniques are identical, so you can use the clips to remind yourself what the techniques are, what order they're in, etc., but your uke wont be striking with a tanto.

James' advice is good too. Take it easy, don't forget to breathe, you'll be fine. :)
