Aikido Journal (http://www.aikidojournal.com) reports that Aikikai Hombu Dojo will be holding its 70th Anniversary party on October 21st. Stanley Pranin writes, "The Aikikai Hombu Dojo has recently announced a major event that will be held at the Keio Plaza Hotel on Sunday, October 21, 2001. The occasion is the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Aikikai Hombu Dojo--actually its predecessor the old Kobukan Dojo--in 1931. At the same time, the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Zaidan Hojin Aikikai (Aikikai Foundation) will be celebrated. Here too the original organization called the Kobukai Foundation was inaugurated on April 30, 1940. The event will be presided over by Aikido Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba and several thousand guests from all over the world are expected to attend." Anybody planning on attending?
