Greetings from Maine!
I am part of an independent school, and have been studying aikido for approximately 6 years. (I have studied, and continue to do so, other martial arts, as well.)
I was wondering if any fellow aikidoka could (and would) share what their respective schools/organizations require for promotions for kyu rankings and shodan, from shodan to nidan, nidan to sandan, etc. I have our syllabus that covers the techniques up to shodan, which I can share (either posting it here, or via e-mail) and I was wondering what might be required in other dojo. I expect to continue to improve techniques that are done up to shodan, inclusive, of course.
Thanks- I appreciate any input that I can receive.
Take care,
Bob

I used to have more of these but this will do as a start.
ASU (http://www.geocities.com/navyaikido/technique_requirements.htm)
Yoshinkan (http://www.seikeikan.com/shinsa.htm#Yudan)
Shodokan (http://homepage2.nifty.com/shodokan/en/shinsa.html)
USAF, I think (http://www.aikidoatlanta.com/testrq.htm)
You may have to figure out what the Yoshinkan and Shodokan types are talking about but you asked. The official Hombu guidelines are posted around here every so often (forum search will find them) and they are lighter than all of these, IIRC.
Note: Standard complaint to Peter and other Shodokan types for not getting their own domain name.
